Sankayi re-introduced its new and bigger venue opened in the heart of Sandton’s Green park Corner earlier this month. The new feel and look of this cosmopolitan eclectic Restaurant and Lounge thrives to provide the best experience, attracting both local and international patrons.
The new joint catered as a nightlife venue providing the ultimate high end African Music Lounge experience since late 1990’s, before adding a restaurant service to its arsenal in 2021.
With a rich heritage of more than two decades, Sankayi Restaurant and Lounge has officially reopened its doors at a brand new premium location, and set to take the Joburg nightlife scene by storm.
FOOD
Inspired by Mediterranean cuisine infused with various African flavours, the menu is unrivalled as all meals are curated with local South African ingredients, specifically designed to tease every sensory experience imaginable, where traditional culinary arts are on show. Patrons are invited to come experience African luxury with a touch aesthetics.

When it comes to music, Sankayi has everything worked out for you. Since its creation in 1998, Sankayi has made its blueprint as one of the best lounges in Johannesburg by offering the best musical experience to its patrons.
From Hip-hop, R&B to African, Caribbean, and Latin music. Throw in some Amapiano and the musical spell of our resident DJs will keep you moving to the rhythm while enjoy the vibe.
DRINKS
An endless selection of premium drinks are available at the beautifully styled bar. This includes a huge range of champagnes, cocktails, premium spirits, beers, coolers and ciders. Sankayi Restaurant and Lounge has a strict no under 23’s policy after 8pm with a Smart Casual dress code that will need to be adhered to. The capacity of this premium hangout venue is 300, and offers tailormade options for lavish private and corporate events alike.
Founding owner and frontman Guy-Stéphane Mwamba says patrons can expect the full lifestyle experience that come with the ever changing face of South African nightlife.
