Mpumalanga is the province-host for the Metro FM Awards 2023 edition and an invitation to explore the province awaits the attendees during their stay. The awards ceremony will be taking place at Mbombela Stadium (Mpumalanga) on the 6th of May and it is staged during the autumn season introducing tourists to the serene, tranquil sunny and warm Mpumalanga winter.
The experiences vary from spectacular landscapes, the scenic beauty and high altitudes through the Panorama where the scenery of Waterfalls, the God’s Window, as well the Gorge Lift Company, can be enjoyed. The Barberton Makhonjwa Mountain World Heritage Site explores the origins of human existence through its rock formation dating back 3.5 billion years. One can also visit Inzalo Yelanga near Kaapsehoop for a search of fertility. Others may search for the powers of ancient kings that are believed to be in existence at the Sudwala Caves.

CEO of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA), Mduduzi Vilakazi said that the province is ready to welcome visitors assuring of the safety in tourism related spaces such as accommodations and adventure routes. He also said that a number of events have also been planned for the duration of the Metro FM Awards weekend.

Events such as these provide economic spinoffs such as market exposure to new entrants in the tourism business, and they bring to life the township and rural economy, create short-term job opportunities.” said the MTPA CEO.
Vilakazi further said an event of this magnitude further plays a significant role in creating awareness about investment opportunities that the Mpumalanga Province may offer as people travel not only for leisure, relaxation and entertainment but also for investment opportunities.
